Prime were appointed by SES Engineering Services to carry out the Commissioning Management of Royal London Hospital, a 2 floor M&E fit out for potential COVID-19 patients. The project had a 5 week turnaround due to the circumstances and was completed, on time, to a very high standard conforming to HTM compliances. Prime had 3 operatives based at the project working a mixture of days and nights, 7 days a week to ensure the commissioning process was correctly sequenced and managed. An ‘all hands on deck’ approach was the attitude adopted by everyone involved and it was a valiant effort to get the project handed over on time. Prime’s involvement on the project was from start to finish, assisting with commissioning and water treatment methodology (which had to be carefully managed so not to effect live hospital wards across other floors), RAMS review, assisting the teams on site with any issues encountered, daily commissioning meetings were held to discuss progress and plan the commissioning activities.
Prime were also tasked with witnessing all elements of electrical and mechanical commissioning and creating the index and sign off sheets for all commissioning documentation which fed directly into the O&Ms. Prime were the point of contact for the Trust’s representatives who were based on site and tasked to validate and sign off the building services on behalf of the NHS. This partnership was fluid with both parties adopting the same positive attitude to not hinder the project but have the best possible standard of works completed.
M&E Services on the project as follows;
Fire Alarm
Access control
Small power and lighting (lighting control and emergency lighting)
Ductwork Cleanliness
Ventilation commissioning including smoke extract
